UI Design Proposal — Mountain Adventures, Group Expeditions & Intelligent Safety

UI / UX Specification May 2026 English Edition v1
Section 1 — Design Principles & Color System
Design System

Design Foundation

AlpsRiders uses a high-contrast black-and-white base with a single Uber Green (#06C167) accent to signal action, safety, and momentum. Safety-critical states use red. All AI-related surfaces retain distinct purple to keep the assistant recognizable at a glance.

Black & White Base

Maximum contrast. Typography-first hierarchy. No decorative gradients on UI chrome — only on maps and AI surfaces.

Single Green Accent

#06C167 — action, confirmation, and primary navigation. Used sparingly to maintain maximum visual weight when it appears.

Safety First

SOS, alerts, and danger states use high-contrast red #D93025. Unmistakable in snow, fog, and low light.

AI — Purple Zone

All AI surfaces retain purple gradient. The assistant must feel distinct and trustworthy — not part of the neutral UI chrome.

Offline First

Core features (maps, tracking, SOS) work without internet. Data syncs automatically when connection resumes.

Group Awareness

See your entire group in real time. Roles, zones, and alert triggers always visible. No hunting through menus.

Section 2 — Product Concept
Product Vision

AlpsRiders — Three Core Pillars

AlpsRiders brings together three communities under one intelligent platform: mountain hikers who need safety and navigation, group expedition enthusiasts who want coordination tools, and off-grid adventurers who value self-reliance and survival knowledge.

Mountain Hiking

Safety tracking, altitude awareness, avalanche warnings, weather forecasting, and offline navigation for solo and group hikers.

Group Expeditions

Find companions for road trips, photography outings, or multi-day treks. Create groups, set meeting points, share live positions, and message the whole team.

Off-Grid / Survival

Survival tips, foraging guides, emergency shelter plans, water sources, and mesh communication when cellular networks are unavailable.

Target User Profiles

1. The Solo Hiker

Age: 25–45, outdoor enthusiast

Plans multi-day hikes alone. Family at home needs peace of mind. Values reliable offline navigation and automatic safety check-ins.

Key need: "I'm OK" pings, SOS button, offline route.

2. The Group Organizer

Age: 30–50, active community leader

Organizes weekend mountain drives and photo hikes. Needs to manage 8–15 participants, share meeting points, and monitor everyone's location.

Key need: group map, messaging, event planning.

3. The Photo Adventurer

Age: 22–38, landscape/travel photographer

Chases golden hour in remote locations. Wants to find other photographers, discover hidden tracks, and share route highlights.

Key need: discover people nearby, photo spot sharing.

4. The Off-Grid Prepper

Age: 28–55, self-sufficiency advocate

Multi-day wilderness trips with no cellular. Uses mesh Bluetooth to stay in contact with group. Values survival knowledge and offline content.

Key need: mesh networking, survival guides, offline sync.

Section 3 — Feature Tiers: Free vs. Premium
Monetization

Feature Tiers

Core navigation is free. Safety-critical features that deliver real survival value are the premium tier — these are the strongest triggers to pay, because they genuinely protect lives.

Key insight: The SOS button and "I'm OK" system are the strongest payment triggers. Once a user has been in a dangerous situation — or knows someone who has — the value of these features is immediately obvious.
Section 4 — Safety & Live Tracking System
Core Safety Feature

Safety & Live Group Tracking

The map screen is the heart of AlpsRiders. Every group member's position is visible in real time. Smart alerts fire automatically when someone deviates from the route, stops too long, or moves too slowly.

Section 5 — Groups, Roles & Social Layer
Social & Groups

Group System & Social Layer

Groups are the core social unit. Users can create or join expeditions, assign roles, invite members, chat, and discover new companions nearby.

Group Roles

Leader

Creates the group, sets the route, defines safe zones and check-in intervals. Controls who gets alerts. Can send mass messages to all participants.

Member

Active participant on the expedition. Full map visibility, check-in requirement, can send messages, see other members' positions, and trigger SOS.

Observer

Family members, partners at home. Can see the group map in real time, receive alerts, and contact the leader. Cannot send route commands.

Personal Data Architecture

Section 9 — Off-Grid & Mesh Communication
Off-Grid Features

Offline First — Mesh & Survival

In remote areas without cellular signal, AlpsRiders keeps the group connected via Bluetooth mesh networking, with automatic sync when any member regains connectivity.

GPS Track

Recorded locally, no internet needed. Timestamps, altitude, speed.

Mesh Relay

Bluetooth/LoRa mesh passes position between group members within range.

Local Cache

Messages, positions, and alerts queued locally until connection restored.

Auto Sync

When any member hits a cell tower, full group data syncs to cloud.

Observer Alert

Family observers at home receive live updates as soon as sync occurs.

Offline Map Download

Mesh communication caveat: Bluetooth mesh range is approximately 100–200m per node. Optional LoRa hardware accessory extends range to several kilometers. The app supports both.

Based on forecast, storm hits at 14:00. I recommend the North Ridge alternate — 40 min longer but stays below the threshold.
Sounds good. Can you check the gear list for North Ridge?
For North Ridge: add microspikes (ice patches above 2,100m) + extra layer. Updated your gear checklist.
Perfect. Set the route.
